I am not interested in being a novelist, but my writing skills definitely need improvement. Many PhD self-help guides recommend daily writing for an audience. The last time I took a proper English course was in high school! Because I don’t write regularly, I am often intimidated by the thought of writing. It can take me up to 20 minutes to write a sentence! The occasional response or research paper does not give me enough practice.
So, I have set myself the goal of writing 500 words a day in the month of November. My pieces will be published as blog posts because I need to practice writing for an audience. I will try to keep the posts book-related, but I may write about other things from time to time.
Let me know if you have any major writing projects planned in November. Will you be participating in NaNoWriMo?
Good goal. I will be reading.
Reading is a good goal too 🙂
Yes, -wink!
Great goal! I am working on learning French, so my plan is to write a little bit in my blog every day. Maybe not 500 words a day, yet, but I hope to keep improving, so maybe that will be my goal for the end of the month.
Great! How nice to meet another person studying French. I plan on writing a blog post in French every Friday. French Friday 🙂
